Questo elenco e' fondamentalmente una traduzione della maratona messier redatta dal SEDS. Il S.E.D.S. e' una organizzazione studentesca che promuove l'esplorazione spaziale.
Fondata nel 1980 al MIT, grazie al supporto del net, da anni i suoi membri pubblicano pagine e pagine per la divulgazione dell'astronomia.
